Our CSER strategy
Our business strategy is based on the relentless pursuit of outstanding service, products and foodservice solutions for the businesses and customers we serve.
We take our Corporate, Social & Environmental Responsibility (CSER) extremely seriously. We have developed a CSER strategy based on five strategic drivers or ‘pillars’. Each pillar has a number of stretching commitments and targets to ensure all our people are focused on delivering a real difference to the environment, the communities we serve and those less fortunate than ourselves.
Our CSER strategy is an intrinsic part of our overall group strategy. To find our about out Brakes Group strategy click here.
Our CSER commitment
The Brakes Group Board of Directors and Brakes Group Executive Committee regularly review our progress against key milestones and targets and take action where appropriate to ensure the company CSER strategy is delivered in a professional and timely manner and our commitments are realised.
We are committed to minimising our impact on the environment and respecting the communities we serve; ensuring the business practices we adopt today will not harm future generations. Our ‘protecting tomorrow, today’ plan has been specifically designed to achieve our group CSER strategy and drive results.
Corporate social and environmental responsibility is key to delivering our business strategy. With over 10,000 committed staff based in more than 80 locations we have the potential to make a real and sustainable difference. Our policies and actions in this area have also been developed and implemented to help our customers meet their specific CSER strategy, commitments and targets.
A member of the Brakes Group executive team sponsors each CSER pillar. They are supported by a number of senior managers in the business working towards the achievement of specific commitments and targets. The Group Executive Committee regularly reviews progress to ensure all activity is in line with company strategy and that the organisation is on track to meet or exceed the agreed commitments and targets.
